Worry and Anxiety

Over the years I have had clients who were bothered by needless worry. Some worries or concerns we have are certainly rational. "Mary" was overly concerned around the holidays with people coming over. She never liked being the center of attention. At an early age she experienced a traumatizing event (a near drowning) which put her at the center of attention in a negative way and probably was the source many of her worries. In (and out of) hypnosis she was able to reframe that event, put the experience in proper perspective, and understand at an unconscious level that being the center of attention can be useful. She is a lot more comfortable with dinner parties and the holidays.

  1. I think this is one of the most challenging things to face. Overcoming worries and anxieties- both mostly needless and hindering and not beneficial in any way. I'm using self hypnosis to calm myself down and get ready to face the world. I love that you can reframe negative experiences without having to "relive" them. I'd love to use hypnosis on others t help them as well. Thank you for all your help, Jerry.

  2. Social Anxiety is related to worrying and fear. One way to deal with Social Anxiety is associate your worries or fears with something nice or funny. Ask yourself what is one thing nice or funny about your worry or fear. Then whatever made you fear or worry will make you laugh or feel comfortable about it, and will help your Social Anxiety. But the best thing to do next from those above said is to regularly visit or have a session with a hypnotherapist.
